A Little About This Writer
A light-hearted get-to-know-me post.
There are many reasons people write. I do because I am driven to do so. My subjects are dark and awful. I know this and appreciate the people who take the time to read the awfulness. More so if you keep coming back.
I grew up, mainly, in the Appalachian Mountains and my habits show it. The way I talk, write, and feel about relationships is peppered with how people from that culture live. It is how I am.
Every now and then you might find a sentence in my writings that seems wrong. To the world it probably is, but to me, it will never be wrong. At the end of this, I will add some words we use and their meanings just for fun.
Our relationships are different also. When Sykes decided to open a call center in Chavies Kentucky they thought they could implement the “no relatives working together” policy. Also “only close relatives are excused for deaths”.
If you see clusters of houses in the mountains they are families. We cluster together for the most part. Our second, third, and fourth cousins are close to us. They mean the same as a first cousin. When a sibling marries someone their spouse's family holds a closer kinship beyond just getting a new in-law.
