Broken Badge in Kentucky Part 3
Fred Flintstone In Glasgow Kentucky
Glasgow Kentucky on July 2023 one Joseph Ramey, a Barron County constable, decided he would take part in a Kentucky State Police while they were in a high pursuit chase.
In 2022 Kentucky state legislature passed a law that keeps newly-elected constables from exercising general police powers unless they have been certified through professional peace officer training.
Ramey was elected in November of 2022 and still hadn’t gone through certification.
On the day he decided to join in on a high pursuit chase he was driving a Honda Odyssey with green and amber emergency lights the van had a star and Kentucky Constable on the side.
He was discovered to join in the high-speed chase when the State Troopers crossed over into Barren County that’s when Flintstone…I mean Ramey almost took out Kentucky State cruisers. To say the very least he was driving recklessly.
He was arrested and brought up on charges of six counts of wanton endangerment, impersonating a police officer, official misconduct, following an emergency vehicle to closely and using flashing lights or sirens on a nonemergency vehicle.
This is not the first time Ramey was arrested after becoming a constable, he was arrested for domestic violence and unlawful imprisonment on January 1st, 2023, where he handcuffed her and held her against her will.
During this time did he arrest anyone else? That’s what I want to know.
