Happy Halloween
Tis the season to be spooky!
Once upon a time, a little broken girl could spend one night being someone else. That little girl was me. I would dress up as a witch on almost every Halloween. To me, a witch was the epitome of the whole Halloween season. After all, could it actually be Halloween without a wicked witch running around?
As soon as it started to get dark my sisters and I were ready to get bags worth of candy. We started off in our neighborhood and would eventually make our way to the richer neighborhoods. While we went from door to door we could forget about the bad that awaited us at home.
For one night we were free to be whoever/whatever we wanted to be. One year it was raining and snowing but I didn’t care. I kept going until I couldn’t go anymore loving every moment of it.
I’m an adult with grown children and Halloween still has the same hold on me. I no longer go trick-or-treating, much to my disappointment, but I will dress up as a witch this year and pass out candy at work. As the candy drops into their bags I pray that each child is safe, happy and loved.
I wish all of you a Happy Halloween!
Movie Suggestion:
Trick ‘r Treat: In a small town on Halloween night, those who break the rules of the holiday do so at their own peril.
