Lora Skaggs Cains
A mother of three goes missing in West Virginia.
It’s a tangled mess but from what I can gather Lora Skaggs went missing between 1948 to 1950.
Nothing makes sense in this case because she was supposedly hitching from Charleston to Decota, West Virginia, but she was last seen in Cabin Creek, Coalton, Kentucky.
Lora was born on February 27th, 1920, she would marry Leonard Cains, and they would have three children. Who would be raised by their Aunt Dora Skaggs after she married their father in 1955.
The same aunt who got rid of all things that belonged to Lora.
Lora has never been heard from again. From what I could find a missing person report was filed by her parents.
Lora Lorraine Skaggs Cains
Red/Auburn haired
Brown Eyes
5'0 to 5'3 in height
115 to 130 in weight
Appendectomy scar
Before anyone says anything, it was more common to marry a late spouses sibling than it is today, but I beleive there was hurt there because the aunt wanted Lora’s memory gone. Was it because the aunt did something to Lora or was it because she felt she could never fill her sister’s shoes? I say it was the latter, but we probably will never know.
