On December 23rd, 1964, one Sister Carmelita Mattingly age 66 was crossing KY Hwy 144 from the Catholic Nuns Home to Saint Williams Catholic School when someone struck her with their vehicle. This is in Knottville Kentucky, Daviess County. A part of her habit was found in Thruston Kentucky about 8 miles away but still in Daviess County.
