What to do now?

There’s this whole thing about liking, highlighting, and commenting on other writers’ posts to let them know you value their work. I was given that advice from people who have had accounts for years with Medium.
If we do it now, can we get our accounts suspended? How do we engage? Do we engage?
Does anyone have answers? As of right now, I’ve made two dollars this month. At this point, I am not sure I will be writing for the money anymore anyway. If I can write that’s fine by me, but if I am not going to make a passive income with my writing there is no sense in paying for an account. I use what little I make here to help me with subscriptions to places like newspaper.com or ancestry.com, which I use to research subjects.
If anyone has answers let me know. I would like to be able to like and comment on other writers’ creations.
